3374 - Analytic Methodologist

OVERVIEW:

The Analytic Methodologist will enable and accelerate GEOINT analytic modernization, mathematical and statistical modeling, structured analysis techniques, scientific methods, Activities Based Intelligence (ABI), Structured Observation Management (SOM), and Object Based Production (OBP) within the program's analytic workforce.  Project may include analytic modeling for collecting tipping and cueing, helping analysts develop strategies for data-centric research methods, and automating existing workflows through modeling and scripting.

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Apply mathematical and statistical models via programming languages to large datasets to extract patterns, relationships, and anticipatory likelihoods not apparent through traditional analyses
  • Use knowledge of advanced analytic methodologies to increase customer satisfaction and answer intelligence questions
  • Support exploitation, intelligence analysis, and product development, to include statistical and trend/pattern/temporal analysis, data manipulation and format conversion, data collection/querying from various systems, data formatting for visualization and presentation, and database design and data entry form development
  • Interact with analysts, mission partners, and other contractors on analytical functionality, exploitation, and related support tools
  • Assess new analytic tools and standards to facilitate compatibility and efficiencies across toolsets
  • Provide database consultation, graphical data visualizations, and recommendations for quantitative data selection and collection

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in geography, data science, imagery analysis, physical science, operations research or military equivalent and related fields; Additional experience can be substituted for education
  • 1 - 12 years of experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), geography, statistical analysis, data science, business process improvement, or analytic modeling
  • Knowledge of Intelligence processes (e.g., targeting, collection, processing, exploitation, dissemination)
  • Experience using quantitative and qualitative techniques to solve complex problems using analytical tools and techniques such as GIS, data visualization, modeling, systems analysis, comparative analysis, or database techniques
  • Knowledge of GIS or exploitation software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Earth, RemoteView, SocetGXP, ENVI
  • Experience with statistical, data science, and visualization software including Tableau, R and MATLAB
  • Capabilities to script in Python
  • Ability to develop algorithms and analytic techniques, created customized exploitation and visualization methodologies or new products
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in data mining, cleansing, and exploring spatial, temporal, and non-spatial data in both structured and unstructured formats
  • Ability to identify and learn the essential elements of information of an intelligence problem, identify sub-processes and dependencies, location process disfunction, develop alternative processes or analysis, share expertise with analysts, and document approaches and methods for GEOINT analysis
  • Knowledge of standard and non-standard the program's reports including, but not limited to NES remarks, NIBs, and GEOINT Notes
  • Programming, scripting or analysis skills in Pythong, IDL, MATLAB, or R
  • Application of SOM solutions including GOWK, GERT, and STARE
  • Proficiency using GEOINT services including GovCloud, Amazon Web Services, C2S
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Proficiency using MS Office Suite

CLEARANCE:

  • TS/SCI minimum  with ability to obtain CI Polygraph
